Upper Ifold is Yfaud (e )1241, 1279Ass , Ifaude 1255Ass , Attehifold 1255Ass , Ifold 1263Ass , 1332 SR (all p). 'Fold by or on the well-watered land,' v. eg , fal(o)d. The place lies by the Arun. Cf. Ifold (PN Sx 106).
