Etymology

Hurlands Fm is Hurlande 1577Ct , Horlands , Hurlands 1675 SAC xxxii, and gave name to Richard atte Huerlonde (1313Ass ) and Richard ate Hurlond ' (1332 SR). It is not far from the southeast corner of the parish, and may be for OE  hyrne-land , 'land in the nook or corner,' v. hyrne .
