Artington

Parish in the County of Surrey

Etymology

This parish originally formed part of the St Nicholas, Guildford. In 1904 most of the urban part of that parish was included in the borough of Guildford, the remainder or rural part being given the name of Artington. Artington was properly the name of an old manor in the parish, now represented by two farms on the Portsmouth Road.
