Etymology

The first element is probably the OE  pers.n. Manna . For the Ru, Nt and W examples of Manton, Ekwall DEPN prefers OE  (ge )mǣne 'common, communally owned', but for the Ru p.n., early spellings with nn and the surviving gen.sg. of the 1275 form favour the pers.n. Of the Manton in Nt, Gover, Mawer and Stenton note, 'Ekwall's suggestion (DEPN) 'common tun ' (from OE  (ge )mæne 'common') is, from the historical point of view, most unlikely', v. Nt 107. Their stricture applies here also, hence 'Manna's farm', v. tūn .
