Etymology

Homer Fm is Holemere 1278–9 RH (p), 1285Ass (p). 'Pool in a hollow,' v. holh , mere . Homer Sa has the same origin and so has Holmer Green in Missenden Bk, and it is possible that the O name is derived from a family coming from one of the other places.
