Etymology

King's Stand Fm. Cf. the kings stand breck 1609LRMB , Kings Stand 1775 C. The name refers to a spot from which the king shot game. Cf. Kings Standing Oak (PN Nth 102), King's Standing (PN Sx 392). For breck , v. infra 276.
