Etymology

'Klyppr 's farm,' v. tun , the first element being the OScand  personal name Klyppr as in Clipston (PN Nth 111) and Clipston on the Wolds infra 232. It is on record in England in Clip , the name of a 10th-century moneyer (ZEN 55). For Kinges - cf. Rex est dominus (1316 FA).
