Etymology
Blyth Law Hill. The law is a tumulus on the western side of the road from Nottingham to Blyth. In 1476, archbishop George Neville of York died in loco qui vulgo Blyth law nuncupatur , while travelling along this road towards York (Historians of Church of York (Rolls Series) ii, 437).
