Burntwalls Fm is les Brendewalles 1255FF , Burnedwalles 1591DuLaMiscBks . v. brende . The name is explained, at least in part, by the following quotation from Bridges, 'Burnt Walls, where many loads of stone, of ruined walls and foundations have been digged up' (i, 42–3).
