Mogden is Mokedene 1426, 1431Ct , t. Hy 6Rental , Mokden 1436Ct , 1498Rental , Mogden 1491Ct . The second element is denu, 'valley.' The forms are late but the first element is probably the OE  personal name Mocca , recorded from Surrey and from Mercia.
