North Hyde is Northhide (1710 S) and was the home of John de Northyde (1243 FF), de la Northhide (1274Ass ) and atte Northhyde (1355 FF). 'North hid', cf. Hyde Park infra 168. The hamlet lay in the extreme north of the parish.
