Etymology

'The hunters' ford', v. hunta (gen.pl. huntena ), ford . It carried a road across a small stream running from the north into the Little Avon R. Cf. also the local Huntena tun c. 770, 796 BCS 218, 277 (Finb 29, 51), v. tūn .
