Etymology

Sneyd Park, Old Sneed Park, Lasnede 1248Ass (p), bosc ' voc ' Sned 1299RBB , parc ' de Sneed 1374 Orig, Snede park 1547 Pat. v. snǣd 'a detached part of an estate', park . The park was near the Avon between Durdham Down and the Trym and was in the old manor of Stoke Bishop, from which it is separated by the Roman road from Sea Mills to the east. Cf.
