Pen Park Ho & Pen Park Hole, on parc ' de Pen , of parc ' de Pen 1299RBB , parc ' de Peen 1374 Orig, Pen park 1547 BM, 1830 M, Pen-park hole 1779 Rudder.Probably from Brit  penno-, Welsh  pen 'hill-top', v. park ; it is on the high ground a mile north-east of Westbury. This name is not connected with Pen Pole (132supra ).
