Etymology

Goldwick, Goldeswyke 1554 FF, Wycke als. Goldeswike 1570 ib, Goldwick 1585FF , 1780 Will. Doubtless originally wīc 'outlying dairy-farm' with the ME  surname Golde added to distinguish it from Lower & Upper Wick infra . The places are all in the east of the parish.
