Etymology

Ealdland (lost) was the corps of the prebend of Eldelond 1322–50 Pat, 1370 Londin, Edelond 1337 Cl, Oldeneslond 1349 Pat, Ealdelonde 1371 Pat, Yeldelande 1535 VE. “Old land,” i.e. land long under cultivation (Newcourt i, 144).
