Etymology

Trapshill Fm (6″) is Trapses 1609 and Traps Hall 1685 (Loughton). Ralph traps was a tenant of typeden in 1236; John, son of William Traps , held a tenement and land at Schadeshill in 1400. v. Loughton 76, Winstone, Epping Chapel , 11, 13, and EAS ix, xi. Trap's Hill (6″) is Schadeshill , Schodeshill , Schaddyshyll (1400–8Ct ).
