Bell Ho or Mannocks [beləs] is Belhous (e )(lane )1411Ct , 1422–56MinAcct , 1497 Ipm, Bellehowsehach 1499Ct , Bellow (e )s 1590 Lancs, 1594 N. As Nicholas de Belhous had a messuage in this parish in 1329 (Rental ), this is probably a manorial name.It was in the possession of George Mannok in 1497 (Ipm). Cf. Bellhouse supra 399.
