Crouch Ho is Croucheshouscroft 1338 St John , Crowchehowse 1538, 1561Rental . It was so called from Othelesho crouch 1329– 34 St John and was probably the home of Gilbert de Cruce (1272StJohn ). v. Audley End supra 430 and crouche .
