Etymology

'(At) the holly tree', v. holegn , -e 2 ; for the change n > m cf. Holme YW 2269, ModE  holm-oak and dial. holm (Barnes 73); East in relation to West Holme in East Stoke par. infra where some of the early forms may strictly belong, v. ēast .
