Etymology
The earlier name, as suggested in DEPN, was ON Anundar-dalr , 'Anund 's valley.' The later name, as first suggested by Lindkvist (41), is 'valley of the Ehen' (v. supra 13). Both names show the ON genitival inflexion -ar . v. Introduction.
