'Enclosure belonging to a fortification', v. byrh-tūn, burh-tūn.The township adjoins Aldford 77supra and Saighton 121infra , and is separated from Golborne David 88infra by Churton Heath 115infra . The burh cannot be identified. The manor-house of Buerton, mentioned 1429–30 Orm2 ii761, stood in a moated site at 109–437607.
