Etymology

Easton, Eastune c. 1180 (13th) Abingdon, Eston '1220 Feeset freq with variant spellings Eston (e ) to 1401–2 FA, Aston '1284Ass , Easton 1761 Rocque, 'east farm', cf. Weston 274. This is probably the Eastun of BCS 366, a spurious charter which confirms a number of places to Abingdon.
