Etymology

Slow Grove, (meadow called) Slograve 1252–5FF , Slogroue 1633SpecCom , Slouegrove 1637ib , Slogrove Mead 17thPubLib (Clayton ), v. grāf 'grove'. The name is applied on the 6″ map to some marshy islands in the Thames, and the first el. could be slōh 'mire' or slāh 'sloe'.
