Cu 466 s.v. cokelayk , first evidenced in 1189 ) , v. cocc 2 ' cock ' , leikr ' play ' ; it may more generally denote a glade where woodcock or similar birds sported ; other examples include Cocklaw Fell (i, 162supra ) , Cocklake ( ii , 34 , 52 , 76 , 109 infra ) .
