Etymology
Wickford Bridge (6″) is Wykefordyebrigge in 1484 (Ct ), Wickford Bridge in 1675 (Ogilby). The bridge superseded an ancient ford here over the Stor. The first element is presumably OE wic, but there is no farm there now.
