Cockshot Copse and Little Cockshot Copse (6″) are Cokkeshot 1422Rental , Cotmanshoke als. Nethircotshot , Ouer Ockshote 1470–1CourtR , le Cokshute , Codmanhok als. Nerther Cokshute 1476–7Rental , Cookshote close 1591Survey . v. cockshoot . The alternative name was apparently 'cottager's hōc.'
