v. askr . The second element is almost certainly hrycg . Cf. Gaterigg 161supra , which is a hrycg -name, and shows forms in -ryk and -rik in the 12th and 13th cents. Note also Girrick 144supra and Marrick 294 infra . 'Ash-ridge.'
