Etymology
Appollo Lodge (lost), Appollo Lodge c.1820GrimsMap , Appollo lodge 1842 White; it was situated between the earlier Lower and Upper Burgess St., north of the “New Market Place”. Dr Rod Ambler points out that in the 1851 Census of Religious Worship this was a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel and had earlier been a Masonic Hall.
