Etymology
Pulmore Water (6″). Cf. Poleford t. Ed 1Stowe , Pulfordfeld 1433Cassio , Pulver mead 1636Add , c. 1840TA . 'Ford by the pool,' with reference to some pool in the Mimram. ford was reduced to ver and this changed to mer (more ) through popular etymology.
