Doggheart Spring (6″). Cf. Doggetts Heart Grove c. 1840TA .Possibly this place is to be associated with Dogenhyde 1251ElyCouch , 1277Ely , Dogenhide 1395, Dogenhyde 1435, Dogynhyde , Dokenhyde 1481Cecil . Dogenhyde may have been reduced to Doggett and then rationalised as Dogheart . Apparently 'dog's' or 'dogs' hide ,' v. hid infra 245.
