Oddens Wood (SY 581848), 1845TAMap , named from Oddon (e )1376et freq to 1544Ilch , cf. Hoddon (n )(e )sdiche 1383, 1404ib , Oddonnesdiche 1387, 1391, 1400ib , possibly 'hood-shaped hill' from hōd 1 and dūn , with dīc 'ditch'. For the first element, cf. Hod Hill 2117.
