Seawell Knap (SY 558854), named from Sewull ', Yestwull ', Westsewull '1269Ilch , Yestwill ', Westsewill '1269(p)ib , Sewylle 1277Ass (p), Sewell (e )1327 SR (p)et freq to 1495Ilch , Sewoll '1332 SR (p), Sewill '1383et freq to 1440Ilch , Sewyll 1494, 1496ib , Seowell (e )1367et freq to 1400Ilch , Parua Seowell ', Estsewell ', Westsewell 'l14ib , Seewill ', Seewell '1383, 1388, 1455ib , Estseowell '1391ib , Lytel Sewell '1414ib , Seywell '1505ib , cf. viam voc ' Sewillam (sic)Lake 1353ib . 'The sea spring or stream', from and well(a), with ēast , west , lȳtel . A spring and small stream (v. lacu ) are marked 6″ just west of a 400′ hillock (v. cnæpp ).
