Etymology
Peel Hall, Peel Hall Rd (101–8386), the Pele of Echellys 1519 Orm2, (the ) Peek 1578 Earw, 1613, 1633 Orm2, the Parke of Peek 1602 Orm2, Peel Hall & Peel Lane 1831 Bry, v. pēl 'a palisade', cf. NED s.v. peel 'a stockaded or palisaded (and moated) enclosure' (1596). This is the ancient, moated, manor-house of Etchells. Cf. Peel 333infra .
