Etymology

'The eastern farm', v. ēast , tūn . It adjoins Cholmondeston, Worleston, Church Minshull 136, 151, 154infra , Leighton and Sound 28, 121supra . Aston was within the old forest of Mondrem 1 10, cf. Wood infra . In 1356AddCh 50860, a part of Aston was called Mundrum , cf. Mondrum 138infra .
