The ancient parish of Woodchurch contained the townships 1. Arrowe, 2. Barnston, 3. Irby, 4. Landican, 5. Noctorum, 6. Oxton, 7. Pensby, 8. Prenton, 9. Thingwall, 10. Woodchurch. Of these, all except Barnston, Irby and Pensby are now included in Birkenhead County Borough.
