( P.H . ) ( lost ) , Granby 1846, 1863 White, Granby Inn 1877 ib ; named from the Marquis of Granby , heir of the Duke of Rutland . The most renowned marquis was John Manners , Marquis of Granby from 1721 to 1770 , who became a national hero as leader of the victorious cavalry charge at Warburg in 1760 . Many taverns throughout England were named in his honour .
