, named , like Isle of Rhee in Iron Acton (iii, 2infra ) , from Île de Rhé near Rochelle (France) ; in 1628 a commission was addressed to the Mayor of Gloucester and others ' to proceed against soldiers returned from the Isle of Ree and billeted in the county , who commit felonies ' ( GlR 69 ) ; they were the men who had returned after the Duke of Buckingham had been forced by Richelieu to withdraw from the island in 1627 .
