Etymology

Nash Hill is le Hasshe 1270For , le Asshe 1304 Pat, loc. voc. Atten Asche 1331For , Naysshahull 1375 Trop, Naisshehulle 1430 AD iv, and was the home of Richard atte Nayssch (1341 NI), i.e. 'At the(n) ash.' Hill is a later addition. The form Ash Hill, apparently for the same hill, is found in Pewsham infra 109.
