Etymology

Easton Piercy is Estone 1086 DB, Eston Pyeres , Peres , Pieres 13th Aubrey, Eston Peres juxta Kyngton Michĩs 1304Ass , Eston Peers al. Eston Pyers 1559Recov , Eston Pearce 1578FF , Easton Pearcey al. Easton Pearce 1702Recov , Easton Percy 1773 A and D. 'East farm,' v. tun . It is west of Kington and must have been so named because east of Yatton Keynell infra 114. The manorial addition is the personal name Pier (r )e , 'Peter.' Peter de Estune was a tenant in the parish in 1189 (GlastInq) and in 13th-century deeds printed by Aubrey we have mention of William filius Petri de Eston and Johannes filius Petri Fitz -Pieres .
