Etymology
St Edith's Marsh. Cf. Edithelegh 1374FF , Ydethelee 1398 AD iv, Seyntydemershe 1569FF , Tiddie Marsh , Tydworths Marsh 1640 Sess, Idith Marsh 1773 A and D, Titty Marsh 1862 Aubrey. Edith may be Queen Edith, cf. “inde Rex de terra Reginæ Edithæ in Brumham 10 hid. in domino ” (ExonDB). If so, the Saint is a late incorrect addition.
