Etymology

Possibly 'stallion open country', v. wrǣna (wǣrna), feld ; cf. Ekwall, Studies 67–8, but the first el. might well be OE  wærna , a metathesised form of wrenna 'wren', Warm (e )- is due to the labialisa- tion of -n - to -m - by the following -f -.
