'Hugh's farmstead', v. . The pers.n. is the common ME  pers.n. Hugo (Huwe , Hugh , Hew ) from OG  Hugo , borrowed in Fr  as Hugon , Hue , the latter being the predominant form in the p.n. Huby YN is of different origin.
