Hundhill Hall, Hundehill '1200 Cur, Hunhill 1379 PT (p), Hunsdell 1472 Test iii, Hundyll 1562 FF, Hundill -Hall 1822 Langd. 'Hounds' hill', v. hund , hyll , doubtless referring to a hill where dogs were kept; cf. Bitch Hill 186, Hungate (Ripon) pt. v, Hund Hill (Newton on Hodder) pt. vi infra .
