A detached part of a York parish: the Parysche of Seynt Marie over Bischop Hill , the parysche of Seynt Marie thalder 1492 YkCR, our Lady churche thelder of Bysshopehylle in the cite of York 1521 Star; for Bishophill cf. YE 282. The township of Middlethorpe is now in York County Borough.
