Jas 1Rental , Orman 's Fm 1808 L, Marmond Priory Farm c. 1840TA . A small priory was founded here c. 1200 (L 271), taking its name from Marmande (Lot et Garonne). Gröhler (ii, 247) derives the name from Milmandra (7th century), an early name for the river Trech on which it stands.Forms Miramunt , Miremunt (1254 Cl) for Marmande show that in France as in England there was an early tendency to confuse the second element of the name with Fr  mont , munt .
