Goldwhurd

Early-attested site in the Parish of Titsey

Etymology

Goldwhurd (lost) is marked on Surrey maps from Speed (1610) onwards. It was in the neighbourhood of Coldharbour Beeches (6″). Various neolithic finds have been made in the neighbourhood and it may be that some treasure was once found here.Cf. Goldsworth and Goldhard supra 157, 321.
