Etymology

Bysshe Court is hursta de la Bisse early 13th BM, la Byssh (e )1356 Ipm, t. Ric 2 BM, Byssheco (u )rt 1486–1515 ECP, 1498 FF, and was the home of William ate Byssh ' (1332 SR), atte Bisshe (1372 FF). This is OE  bysc, 'bush, thicket.' hursta is a latinised form of hurst (v. hyrst ).
