Etymology

'tūnon the river Glyme' (v. supra 7). For the forms Glinton (e ) and Clinton (e ) cf. the quotation from Dugdale (1656) in PN Wa 173: “Clinton (now vulgarly called Glinton ) in Oxfordshire.”
