Kingston Ho (6″) is Le Kynggeston 1308 Ipm, Kengeston in Carleton 1356 IpmR, Kynges Carleton in Lynryke 1517 NtIpm, Carleton Kingston 1617 Wills. 'King's farm,' v. tun . In 1086, Carlton had been divided between King William and Roger de Busli. The king's portion of the village, which continued to be royal demesne, is represented by the name Kingston above.
